Lead the Industry: WFLO Institute Scholarships

WFLO will award Institute scholarships to three deserving PRW professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to their company and a passion for our industry. By completing and submitting the Scholarship Application, applicants become candidates for free tuition and lodging at the PRW industry’s finest training center.

This is part of WFLO’s ongoing effort to reward dedicated professionals and cultivate leadership within our industry.

What scholarships will be awarded?

Description

1 At-Large Scholarship

Available to all members

1 Leader Scholarship

Available to IARW Warehouse Members with combined company refrigerated capacity of less than 3 million cubic feet

1 International Scholarship

Available to members outside North America


Who is eligible for these scholarships?

All employees of IARW Warehouse Members who would be first-year Institute students.

What will the scholarship recipients receive?

  • Complimentary 2009 Institute Tuition
  • Complimentary 2009 Lodging and Meals at Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Special WFLO Institute Scholarship Certificate
  • Recognition at Opening Session
  • Announcement in Cold Connection

Who will be judging the applications? What are the judging criteria?

Scholarship finalists will be judged by a three-member panel – WFLO Director of Education and Training Colleen Caster and two IARW member judges.

Applications will be based on the following criteria:

  • Passion for/commitment to company and industry as evidenced by background/experience, recommendation from a supervisor, and question response
  • Thoughtfulness of question response
  • Clarity of question response

When will candidates be notified of selection results?

All applicants will be notified of scholarship selection results by December 17, 2008.
