After the success of the 2008 program with over 160 participants
from some 20 countries, in 2009 the European refrigerated
warehousing and distribution industry will again be meeting in
Amsterdam for the 12th Cold Chain Logistics Education Program &
Trade Show.
Analysis and discussion of operations-oriented topics, lean and cost
effective refrigerated warehousing and distribution, attention for
green and sustainable policies, and contributions on successful new
logistic concepts will be high on the agenda. Furthermore,
repre-sentatives from food retail, food service and leading frozen
food manufacturing companies will speak about today’s market,
but will also look at the future role of 3PLs in the cold supply
chain.
Continuing the approach that was introduced in 2008, there will be
much attention for subjects that directly influence both perfor-mance
and operational costs, and that occupy the minds of executives,
senior and middle management in cold storage, transportation and
distribution.
On
Tuesday morning there will be Focus Sessions, based on the
themes "Health, Safety & Crisis Management in logistics" and "ERP, WMS, TMS and smart innovations that reduce warehouse
labor costs".
Traditionally, the program features a networking dinner on Monday
night, which offers excellent opportunities for establishing new
business contacts, and a trade show for suppliers to the industry.
This trade show takes place on Monday (all day) and Tuesday
(morning). Free continental breakfast and the breaks will all
be in the exhibition area on both conference days. On Tuesday
afternoon an interesting refrigerated warehouse and/or distribution
center will be visited.
All
of this are great occasions to discuss business and exchange ideas
with international colleagues, in order to take practical and
valuable information home.
