Weather and Dress Code

Washington is hot and humid in August.  Average high is 85°F (30°C). Meeting rooms at the hotel will be set at 72°F (22°C). Air conditioning at many restaurants, shops, theaters, etc. can be chilly.

 

Attire for meetings and luncheons is business casual.  The rooms tend to be chilly.  For the Sunday and Monday evening activities, women will be comfortable in a summer dress or slacks and a blouse, and men should wear a coat, optional tie.

 

Bringing Your Family

Spouses, guests, and children are invited to join delegates at the Sunday and Monday lunches, as well as the Sunday evening activity and the Monday Food Industry and Government Reception.  Washington is a great place to vacation.  Visit www.ThingsToDo-WashingtonDC.com and www.WashingtonDCKids.com for ideas.

 

There is no official children’s program but popular activities include the Smithsonian Institution which operates the National Zoo, Natural History Museum and Air and Space Museum. For details contact the hotel concierge.

 

Baby sitting is available through the concierge with advance reservations required. Rates are $20.00 per hour for 1 child, 2 children is $21.00 per hour, up to 3 children is $22.00 per hour and more than 3 will need another sitter. There is a 4 hour minimum for any number of children. There may be a $20.00 transportation charge if requested.

Pick up your badge, registration list and schedule from the Registration Desk located at the Ballroom Foyer.

 

Check In/Checkout

Check in time is after 3:00 pm
Check out time is 12:00 pm

 

Parking

Valet parking is available at the hotel for guests at a cost of $9 for the first hour, $20 for the second hour with a maximum of $28. Overnight parking is $42.

Hotel Rooms

Rooms are equipped with hair dryers, ironing boards, and irons.

Business Center

The business center is open 24 hours, 7 days a week - Lobby Level.

Concierge

Contact the hotel concierge for theater tickets, transportation, baby-sitting, tour information, dinner reservations and other special requests.

Swim and Fitness Center

Hotel operates a health club located on three levels and covering 12,500 square feet. This state-of-the-art facility features an array of cardiovascular equipment. A complete line of Cybex strength training equipment is available, as well. The Fitness Club features an indoor lap pool and a eucalyptus-scented steam room. Hours are 5:30 am – 10:00 pm.

Hotel Restaurants/ Lounges

  • Seasons Restaurant – open for breakfast Monday through Friday from 6:30 am – 11:00 am, Saturday 7 am – noon, Sunday 7 am – 10 am. Lunch Monday through Friday from 12 noon – 2:30 pm, Saturday 11:30 am – 2:00 p.m. Brunch Sunday from 10:30 am – 2:00 pm. Dinner hours are nightly from 6 pm – 10:30 pm.

  • Garden Terrace Lounge - A warm and intimate lounge, offering cozy accommodations for Afternoon Tea, cocktails or light dining. Sunday through Thursday 11 am – 1 am, Friday and Saturday 11 am – 2 am. Daily afternoon tea from 2 pm – 5 pm but please make reservations with the concierge.
