The Washington Insiders' Luncheon
Monday, July 28, 12:00-1:30 pm

This year's luncheon is headlined by U.S. Senator Gordon Smith from Oregon. Sworn in to the United States Senate on January 7, 1997, Senator Smith serves on five major Senate committees: Commerce, Science, and Transportation, Energy and Natural Resources, Indian Affairs, and the powerful Finance Committee. He also serves as the Ranking Member of the Special Committee on Aging.

Prior to his election to the U.S. Senate, Senator Smith managed his family's frozen vegetable processing company: Smith's Frozen Foods, a leader in the frozen food industry since 1919. Note: subject to change.

Lion King at the Kennedy Center

Meet your association friends at 6:00 pm in the Kennedy Center's Operateer Lounge for beer, wine, soda and heavy hors d'oeuvres. Then find your seat for The Lion King, winner of 6 Tony Awards (1998), including Best Musical! Marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life and thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands an unforgettable score including "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Circle of Life." Food Industry and Government Reception
Monday, July 28, 5:45-7:00 pm

This annual reception draws members of Congress, leaders from the major national and international food industry associations, and important officials from federal regulatory agencies. US members are encouraged to invite their members of Congress and congressional staff aides or agency personnel (USDA, EPA, etc.) you work with or want to get to know.
