This year's luncheon is headlined by
U.S. Senator Gordon Smith from Oregon.
Sworn in to the United States Senate on January 7, 1997, Senator Smith
serves on five major Senate committees: Commerce, Science, and
Transportation, Energy and Natural Resources, Indian Affairs, and the
powerful Finance Committee. He also serves as the Ranking Member of the
Special Committee on Aging.
Prior to his election to the U.S. Senate, Senator Smith managed his family's
frozen vegetable processing company:
Smith's Frozen Foods, a leader in the frozen food industry
since 1919. Note: subject to change.

Food Industry and
Government Reception

This annual reception draws members of Congress, leaders from the major national
and international food industry associations, and important officials from
federal regulatory agencies. US members are encouraged to invite their
members of Congress and congressional staff aides or agency personnel (USDA,
EPA, etc.) you work with or want to get to know.
